Hi Everybody. It is with great pleasure that I write a sketch about myself. I'm sure you all are very curious about where it all started. Here it goes:

On Friday, September 16, 1977, around 8:48pm, I, Dashanna Kwakyewaa McNeil, was introduced to the world in South Carolina.  Before we continue, Qwa' chee waa, is the correct pronunciation of my middle name. I, along with many of my other female cousins, were named after my grandmother. Thus, the name Kwakyewaa. I am the second and the smartest of 3 children. 

I grew up in a Christian home in which education was paramount. My mother instilled in us the importance of putting Christ first in everything that we did.  I enjoy going to church as well. However, I do not hold an office due to the nature of my job. (That's not going to be an excuse anymore now that Phil and I are getting married!)

It was law that we excelled in education and my mother would not settle for anything less. For she understood the sacrifice, prayer and hard work it took to be the sole provider for a family. She also realized these, along with hard work and smart work, willl take you far in life. After graduating with honors from Conway High School, I attended the Conway School of Practical Nursing and obtained an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Diploma in 1996. I went on to attend the University of South Carolina-Columbia and obtained a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing in 2001. After many years of experience in the nursing field, I will soon graduate with a dual Master's Degree in Nursing and Health Care Administration.

Since receiving my first degree in 1996, I have traveled all over the United States working as a nurse. I have worked in many skill areas such as medical/surgical, gynecology/oncology, telemetry, rehabilitation, education, etc. I enjoy being a nurse and enjoy being able to interact and share my skills with different people. Even though I have worked in multiple areas, I still have many goals that I would like to accomplish.

On November 8, 2009, I plan to marry my best friend, my confidant,my provider, my protector (and other  things too ), Philip McNeil, Jr. Can't wait for you all to share this glorious occasion with us!!!
